In this mobile minute, I want to address the question of why you should go mobile, why you should take the time to even listen to me.
You need to think about going mobile because that’s where your customers and prospects are at and that’s where they’re going. And as the phones get smarter, as the connectivity gets quicker, you’re going to be able to do more and more things with it.
When I was doing in the shoe business, I used to have a saying where I could either take people to the shoe salon or I could take the shoe salon to people. And what I was able to do was take the shoe salon to people on their phones. And it was awesome! And it doesn’t matter if its shoes, it doesn’t matter if its food, it doesn’t matter if its pizzas, it doesn’t matter what it is because we all need to communicate with our customers. But the thing is, mobile is the most personalized form of communication you can have with people. As I said before, 95% of text messages get read within 15 minutes.
Let’s say you’re at a restaurant and you own it and it’s a slow night, you can send a text message to your customers giving them a 2-for-1 special between six o’clock and eight o’clock on Tuesday night and they’ll be lining up outside the door to get in. There’s no other way to do that, except with mobile. So, the last thing I’ll tell you about why you should go mobile is because if you don’t, you’re going to regret it.
